What Oye?

Theobroma Cacao Greek for Food of the Gods. And that is the name of the tree which gives us the celestial confection called Chocolate. Chocolate starts its journey from a tiny blossom on a tropical tree. Several complex steps later, it ends up in your hands as something, that is more than a food, less than a drug.

What More Oye?

Although chocolate making might seem tough, its actually very easy to master. Simple household items can be used as equipment for chocolate making. What goes into chocolate recipes? The raw materials used in making hand made chocolates ranges from the usual suspects like chocolate, cream, nuts, butter, and eggs to the more adventurous stuff like herbs and liqueurs. Using easily available chocolate making moulds, one can give shape to their hearts desire. Chocolates from households adorn bakeries in various forms like chocolate cakes, chocolate brownies and sundry other confectioneries.

Chocolate aficionados would attest about chocolates mood enhancing effects and businessmen would swear by its recession-proof qualities. An industry to the tune of $74 billion hinges on this divine delicacy.

Pooja Dhingra of Le15 brings you one of the sought after chocolate making classes in Mumbai. This particular chocolate making class would make you learn recipes like

Molten Chocolate Cake, Nutella Brownies, Nutty Gooey Sticky Fudge, Passion Fruit Truffles, White Chocolate Mousse.

Who oye?

Pooja Dhingra hails from a family where cooking is second nature. Having studied at creme-de-la-creme schools like Swiss Catering School and Le Cordon Bleu in France, Pooja Dhingra certainly has been there and done that.In her own words - "I have always loved being in the kitchen, whether it was tasting menus at my father's Mexican restaurant when I was 12 years old, helping out my mother in her chocolate business when I was 16, or learning how to make the perfect scrambled eggs from my Norwegian flat mate at 22."
