What Oye?

An action packed Photo Editing Workshop, where the topics that will be covered are:

• Understanding RAW files and comparing them to the JPG image format
• Processing and editing RAW files
• Changing the tones and white-balance of photographs on a computer
• Processing and editing JPG files
• Understanding Histograms
• Altering Histograms using Levels and Curves
• Preparing images for printing
• Optimising images for the Internet

Please don't forget to bring:

• Your laptop loaded with the image editing software that came with your camera (please read the paragraph below).
• Other third-party image editing software (optional).
• Writing material to make notes.

The primary software that will be used is the one provided by your camera manufacturer (remember that CD/DVD that was in the box at the time when you purchased your camera). If you cannot find the CD, please inform us in advance. The software is usually available free of cost on the manufacturer's website. RAW files of certain camera brands can only be processed using the manufacturer software and so it is essential that you have the programs installed on your laptop.

If you have other third-party photo editing software installed on your laptop, you can use that too. You can also download and install the demo version. But the proprietary software will give you a better understanding of your camera and its settings.
