What Oye?

Hailing from Gods own country, Kalaripayattu is an ancient martial art practice based on the ideology of a sound mind in a sound body. It is a rare combination of martial art training, physical culture, self- defense practice and physiotherapeutic t treatment.

What more Oye?

Kalaripayattu combines various way of lifting legs, body postures, bodily movements which need greater flexibility and flow of body; this helps to systematize the flow of energy in the body and also helps to shed the unwanted weight. Its completely different from other martial arts. Participants should be above 7yrs. Apart from this, he/she should have great respect and interest towards art. Foremost, they should believe in themselves.

Kalaripayattu enhances your strength, energy, flexibility, and endurance. Accordingly, your body and mind start to become more balanced. It brings down stress and enhances powers of relaxation. It boosts stamina, functioning of the immune system, bestows a greater power of concentration, self-control, enhances posture and muscle tone, cardiovascular system, and also helps to improve blood circulation. Participants do not need to follow any particular diet. It enhances physical fitness and cultivates abilities like absolute physical control, endowing unbelievable speed in physical movements, leaps and jumps and also would help the trainee achieve perfect neuro-muscular co-ordination.

So if you want to discover the ancient art form of Kalaripayattu all you have to do is attend this one hour session with Vipin Kazhipurath.

- Wear something comfortable as you will have to go through some physical endurance

- A bottle of water and a towel would come handy.
