DanceSport is a captivating sport that has drawn people all over the world into its fascinating and tantalizing orbit.
The Beginners course is designed teach you all that is needed for developing social dancing skills. Right from identifying various rhythms & learning basic steps in Salsa and Latin dances, to developing skills of leading and following on the dance floor and social dancing etiquette.The Beginners Course includes the first three Latin dance forms Salsa, Cha Cha, Jive All three being popular for social dancing, it is best to start with these as they all belong to the same category. When you learn one, the others become even easier. So the variety becomes fun and you are able to dance to different types of music. All three are easy to learn, fun social dances, introducing students to the world of Latin Dance and learn the ropes of partnerwork, moves, rhythm, floorcraft and social dancing etiquette.
A typical batch has about 15 students and you dont need a partner to join. A lot of students join without a partner. Classes are conducted in quiet and air conditioned dance studios and promise you a joyful experience. Age is never a bar - so far students coached belonged to age groups right from 11 yrs upto 65yrs (even beyond is welcome!).No prior dance experience is required. 2-20 left feet are most welcome!. Students are given extra practice sessions also to hone their dance skills
DanceSport India, was founded in 2008 by Dr.Priti Gupta and Mr. Shannon Benjamin, with the aim to popularize this sport in India and within a year became one of the best DanceSport Schools in India. It not only represents those who are highly passionate about competitive dancing but also entertains the fun loving and light hearted, who truly define social dancing. DanceSport India is extremely active, particularly in Maharashtra, since it is part of the local governing body DanceSport Association of Maharashtra (DSAM), which in turn is affiliated with the All India DanceSport Federation. Mr. Shannon Benjamin & Dr.Priti Gupta have been the 1st Indian couple to have represented India internationally at various Latin DanceSport championships. You must have already seen Dr. Priti Gupta in "Jhalak Dikhlaja Season 4" dancing with Shekhar Suman. They both have training from countries like UK, Hungary, Hong Kong, Malaysia etc. Their experience in competing for India in more than 8 countries has helped devise various programs to help everyone learn and enjoy Dancing
DanceSport Competitions are also held every 2-3 months batch where students are encouraged to perform for an audience and compete! These internal parties and competitions are filled with fun, excitement, cheer and a dance spirit that allows students to bond well with their batch-mates and instructors. It also gives students an opportunity to compete at district, state, national and international levels.
